Access your National Energy Bill Relief payment

The Commonwealth Government has announced that households will receive $300 in 2024/2025 to help with increasing electricity costs. Some households will automatically receive this payment off their quarterly electricity bills in 2024/2025 with the first payment of $75 commencing for bills issued after 31st July 2024. 

For residents living in land lease communities where electricity is supplied through an embedded network you might need to apply for this payment. If the operator is supplying your electricity then this is an example of an embedded network where you will need to submit an application for this payment.

The exception to this is for residents who are eligible for and have been approved for the following payments in 2024/2025:

• NSW Low Income Household Rebate
• NSW Family Energy Rebate
• NSW Medical Energy Rebate
• NSW Life Support Rebate

Those residents will not need to apply for the Bill Relief payment and will start to receive the payment from September 2024. 

For tenants where electricity is supplied through an embedded network you might also need to apply for this payment if you receive electricity bills from your real estate agent or landlord and you are not  approved for any of the rebates listed above in 2024/25.
